VA - Robopop: The Return (Album Review)

Genre : Electro-pop
Release Date : 20 November 2006

Electro pop was left dead about a decade ago. Artists that were producing Electro pop changed their music to more Easy listening genres.

Electro-pop is not such an easy listening genre for everyone even if the definition of pop = popular seems to tell the different.

Track List :

1. Goldfrapp - Ride A White Horse
2. Tiga - (Far From) Home
3. The Knife - We Share Our Mothers’ Health
4. Lorraine - I Feel It
5. SuperJupiter - Got To Get Some
6. Performance - Surrender
7. Matinee - Club Tokyo Girls
8. Dragonette - I Get Around
9. Huski - Make Me Your Picture
10. Robots In Disguise - Turn It Up
11. Soho Dolls - Prince Harry
12. Ping Pong Bitches - Rock Ya Body
13. Formatic - State Of Play
14. Volunteer - Sweet Love
15. Temposhark - Paris
16. Knights - Limousine
17. Macondo - CCTV

A few popular bands have made a big hit In the United States and Europe such as Goldfrapp and helped the genre rise again.

Try and listen to this compilation were Artists wanna Take their Revenge and conquer a place at the electro hall of fame list. If you Take Tiga out and his Far from home track and GoldFrapp's Ride A White Horse every artist in this album is not so popular so its the perfect time for you to dig and find the treasure you were looking for.

Just give a try at (8. Dragonette - I Get Around) ,( 16. Knights - Limousine ) thats starts with the announcement that the bar has closed - dont know why i love it- but its definetely growing with you. Also (17. Macondo - CCTV) track is a blow experience that you ll catch your self singing that tune in the middle of the day.
(2. Tiga - (Far From) Home ) may be a classic and mainstream song but personally i think is a great synth-pop track with a excellent production.
Just pass the (15. Temposhark - Paris) wich is the only track that may ruin your mood.

Generally its a very solid album every electro-pop lover must have.

The whitest Boy alive - Dreams (Album Review)

Genre : Indie Rock
Release date : June 19, 2006
Label : Service Records

Dreams
is the debut album from The Whitest Boy Alive an indie/rock band. The band consists of Erlend Oye from the Kings Of Convenience, Sebastian Maschat and Daniel Nentwig .

Track list :
1.Burning
2.Golden Cage
3.Fireworks
4.Done With You
5.Don't Give Up
6.Above You
7.Inflation
8.Figures
9.Borders
10.All Ears

It was the release of their single First which included the tracks Burning and Infilation that gave us a clue for the upcoming release of their album.

The whole album is pretty impressive. It can be divided into 3 sections.

The first section includes the tracks (Burning,Above you,Infilation and figures). All of them are quite perfect song presented in a combination of electric guitars, bass, and drums with a twist of Erlend Oye’s spicy lyrics.

The second part of the album includes the tracks ( fireworks, done with you and dont give up). These three songs seem to have a more interest and deep bassline that grows with you. They are not such ''easy listening'' as the other three are but the truth is that these tracks need their time. The guitar appears and dissapears at the right time, there is a more hypnotic and dream tune that the other tracks and they give you the impression that you are ready to pack and go.

The third part of the album ,tracks (borders and golden cage) features some great vocals. The sound here is more like an amateur band that gigs on their garage. This is not at all a disadvantage instead these two tracks are great and their missleading not professional style is absolutely fabulous.

The best parts of the album are the Golden cage with its crazy bass lines that makes you dizzy and Burning which is more of a catchy song but its actually a well worked track with great production quality.

I have loved this album. It makes me relax.Great tunes ,great effort!

Nino moschella- The fix (album Review)

Genre : Soul Funky R&B
Release date : May 23, 2006
Label : Ubiquity Records

This is the first album Of Nino moschella. This is actually the R&B you were looking for.And i am not talking about pseudo Timberlake and other american types. This is the shit you were looking for,a genuine blend of funk, soul, jazz ,rythm and bass.

Track list :

1.Are You For Real
2.The Fix
3.Didnt You See Her
4.Strong Man
5.Better Off
6.Inside Yourself
7.If You Believe (you Will Be Strong)
8.Time Would Tell
9.No One
10.In Your Bedroom
11.Moved On
12.We Will Soon Be Free
13.Decisions
14.Holding On

This guy has soul.He managed to record an album that is kind of old-school and reminds us of the 70s.
(Are you for real) is the first song you are going to hear. Its like touring an american suburb on a moody but happy afternoon.
A very experimental track with bongos, synths and drums try to get in line
The messages of this album are quite uplifting, followed by some crispy clear and warm vocal.Nino talks about Friendship, love and here and there drops some revolutionary lyrics in (If you believe) and (Strong Man).
A Very highly recommended album that manages to craft some optimistic lyrics with a twist of funky ,gospel ,soul and jazzy style.
Nino moschella also tries some blues magic in (Strong man).
This is the R&B you were looking For !This is the One,you got that ?
